Google is tightening up the rules on its Play Store.
Google has pulled dozens of apps from the Google Play store after learning that they include software that covertly harvests user data. The surreptitious code ran on millions of Android devices, collecting information such as precision location, emails, phone numbers and data about nearby mobile devices, per The Wall Street Journal. The tech giant also announced that come Nov. 1, it will begin limiting the accessibility of outdated apps in Google Play to ensure available apps are using the latest privacy and security features.
