The effects of the coronavirus pandemic have amplified and accelerated the transition to CTV as a way for many Europeans to access televised content, particularly free-to-watch, ad-supported content. According to Roku, streaming hours were up in April and– the time spent by existing CTV users had increased and was fueling the discovery of ad-supported content. Roku streaming hours surged 80% in April and hit nearly 40 millions account in Q1 only.
